Happysays

Licensing

How you may use Happysays chimes and clips.

The fine print, kindly

Licensing

What you can do with your Happysays chimes.

What you're buying

When you purchase a chime set from Happysays, you're buying a personal license to use it. The chimes themselves — the tunings, the sounds, the code that plays them — remain the intellectual property of Happysays. Your license lets you enjoy them, share moments with them, and keep them forever.

Personal use — yes, always

Play your chimes on any device you own. Listen at home, at work, on a walk. Let them ring in the background while you cook, read, meditate, or fall asleep. Play them for friends and family visiting your home. This is what they're for.

Sharing with friends

Chime sets are tied to your library, not to a specific device. You can open your library on your phone, your laptop, and your tablet — the same purchases follow you across devices. We don't count installs or lock you out.

If you'd like to give a chime set to someone, use a gift purchase — we designed it exactly for that.

Public spaces and small businesses

If you run a small business — a café, a yoga studio, a small shop, a therapy practice — you may play your chimes in your space as background ambiance without any additional license. We think a chime set drifting through a bookstore is a lovely thing.

Commercial and creative use

Using Happysays chimes in something you plan to distribute — a podcast intro, a YouTube video, a film, a game, a mobile app, an art installation, a music release — requires a separate commercial license. This isn't to be difficult; it's so we can make sure the use is a good match and support you well.

Commercial licenses are affordable and simple. Reach out at hello@happysays.com with a sentence or two about your project and we'll get back to you within a couple of days.

What isn't allowed

To keep Happysays sustainable and fair to everyone who's bought a set:

Attribution

There is no attribution requirement. If you're using one of our windchime sets in a public creative work, a link and a small credit — "WindChimes from Happysays.com" — is appreciated but entirely optional.

Questions or edge cases

If your situation doesn't fit neatly into any of the above, please just ask us about it. happyconcepts.com@gmail.com.
